Asian cycling championships 2017
Masters' category for the first time

Asian cycling championships 2017 which is scheduled to be held in Bahrain from 24th Feb until 3rd March in Bahrain will include Masters' category for the first time.

Inclusion of this category in the Asian Championships has been proposed by the cycling federation of Iran during ACC Management Committee meeting 2015 in Thailand and then repeated in the ACC Congress also in Thailand. It was also supported by the ACC vice president and Secretary General at the same meetings.

It was again followed-up by Iranian representatives during 2016 ACC management committee in Japan, and fortunately Bahrain Cycling Federation showed interest in organizing this category and including it in the Asian Road championships 2017 in Bahrain.

Final discussions took place the last September during the ACC Management Committee meeting in Qatar and finally the invitation was published and sent to all Asian federations by the organizer, today on the 13th November 2017.

Iranian cycling Federation is really glad for being the first country to propose this to the Asian Cycling Confederation and also appreciates the positive role played by the ACC.

Bahrain cycling Federation as the organizer of the event has decided to hold the first edition of this it only in Individual Time Trial with the following age categories:

ACC affiliated national federations are allowed to enter 4 riders in each event but only 2 riders will be permitted to start the race in each.
