ACC Congress 2017 - Bahrain
Khosro GHAMARI the new ACC MC member
During the ACC Congress 2017 which is still in progress in Golden Tulip Bahrain Hotel, the nine ACC MC members are elected and Mr. Khosro Ghamari is one of the nine elected members.
The election was held while one of the 16 candidates (Mr. Parminder Singh, president of Indian cycling federation) withdrew his nomination and therefore 15 nominees remained for the election. Mr. Khosro Ghamari, President of the Cycling Federation of Iran who has been nominated for the first time got elected as one of the nine members.
The final result came out and the following persons are now elected as the ACC MC members for the next four years:
1- Mr. Tatsu Hayashi - Japan
2- Mr. Amarjit Darshan Singh - Malaysia
3- Mr. Khalid Al-Khalifa - Bahrain
4- Mr. Cai Jiadong - China
5- Mr. Raja Sapta Oktohari - Indonesia
6- Mr. Daehoon Lee - Korea
7- Mr. Khosro Ghamari - Iran
8- Mr. Jamal Mesleh Al-Fawaeir - Jordan
9- Mr. Vatche Zadourian - Lebanon
Countries not elected in the MC are, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, India, the UAE, Qatar, and Pakistan.
Out of the 9 delegates elected today, only one of them (Mr. Khalid Al-Khalifa) has been MC member since 2013 and the other eight are all new. This means a reform in the ACC and we all should be expecting new decisions aiming for development of Asian Cycling.
Meanwhile, the election of the candidates to the UCI Member from Asia is being held.
